An advanced DevOps framework

RADON will offer an advanced DevOps framework to help the European software industry to adopt
serverless FaaS technology, while avoiding lock-in within a specific FaaS provider.

The RADON framework will consist of an integrated methodology and an open source toolchain, to define, evolve, and operate event-centric applications that consume serverless functions, allowing a high-degree of reuse and automation of functions, services and associated data pipelines.

METHODOLOGY

PROJECT INFORMATION

RADON aims at creating a DevOps framework to create and manage microservices-based applications that can optimally exploit serverless computing technologies.

MAIN OBJECTIVE

Release an integrated framework , centered on a DevOps methodology, to manage the lifecycles of microservices, data, and functions in FaaS-based applications.

STRUCTURE

The technical work in RADON will be performed across three workstreams, the Methodology workstream (WP2, WP3), the Runtime workstream (WP4, WP5) and the Demonstration workstream (WP6)

Our customer segments include Cloud providers, Software vendors, System integrators, Telco providers, Consulting firms, Mobile developers, IoT vendors and Research scholars.

Use cases description

The outputs of the research and innovation activities will be applied to three industrial use cases.
TRAVEL TECHNOLOGY

RADON will further support the pre-existing decomposition of the ADAMO application business logic into services to develop an extended use case to add novel data pipelines and data-processing FaaS-based microservices.

AMBIENT ASSISTED LIVING

RADON will augment the capacity of the CLOE-IoT middleware and illustrate the resulting benefits in a vertical application for ambient assisted living (SARA) that runs on top of CLOE-IoT.

MANAGED DEVOPS

RADON will facilitate Managed DevOps services to reduce the skill gaps and empower a broad range of industry stakeholders with the latest advances in software and cloud technologies.
